I've more than a year left on my BT Broadband contract so I'm considering replacing the BT HH5 with Netgear or similar router to enable me to connect successfully first time (without the multiple attempts I currently have to do).īeing on the BT support Chat is actually a nightmare to try and get some help on this - "we don't know of any known issues with Cisco VPN client over HH5 - ask your employer to check the laptop etc" - but there clearly is based on the numbers of discussions on the BT forums detailing exactly the same problem I have. On a very odd occassion it does connect but this will be after many many attempts.īoth the BT forum and the Cisco forums have discussions on the VPN connection issues using the BT Smarthubs. It just keeps failing after a few minutes of trying. But the problem remains when at home I try to connect to work via the Cisco Anyconnect VPN. My employer has even re-installed the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client software. I travel for work and use the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client on my lpatop from airports, coffee shops, phone hotspots etc without issue. I was with Sky before moving to BT and never had any issues using the Cisco Anyconnect VPN. I tried all the suggested fixes (port forwarding, firewall etc) but like so many others using this VPN client I can't get the VPN client to connect from home via my HH5.
I've searched through the many discussions on this community on the BT Homehub Issues with HH5 using the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client.
